"The iconic television advert from 1986. Filmed at Clywedog reservoir near Llanidloes, Wales it used the 60 degree, 72 meter high, 230 meter long concrete buttress dam as the backdrop for the 1987 Model Year 3.5L V8 90.
Roger Crathorne from Land Rover took the responsibility to steer the 90 whilst it was being winched up the dam and there is no trick photography, he did it six times in total. The engine couldn't be used as the angle was so steep so the 90 was modified and its rear was packed full of batteries to keep the winch going which made it tail heavy."
